"That OTHER 'Robinson' Trailblazer....FRANK."
Frank Robinson, who died today at age 83, was just as much of a trailblazer as JACKIE Robinson (see January 31st.) You see, Frank was the first, and still the ONLY, player in Major League Baseball history to win the MVP award in both leagues. He was also the first black MANAGER in MLB history.
Frank was truly a PIONEER and, from all I've heard, an all-around nice guy, to boot.
He will be missed.
