"Thoughts On (Officially) Becoming a Senior"

Now that it's February, I'M OFFICIALLY AN OLD MAN. Later this month, Lord Willing, I'll turn 65. This means that anywhere in America I'll be considered a SENIOR CITIZEN. Sigh!! Now, some considered me a Senior at 55...60...62, and I rejected their discounts (even though, secretly, I felt old when I hit ***50***.) My grandmother was right, she told me I'm "still a kid" at 50, Lol!! But 65 IS the universally accepted age, at least in America, of being a SENIOR. (Yes, I'll accept those discounts NOW, Lol!!) Yet even though this is a Leap Year I won't be "leaping for joy" about it, Lol!! I'm not going to hit 65......65 is going to hit ME.

Seriously now, all I can say...all I can PRAY is that whatever time I have left on this earth, that I will use it to glorify God, in whatever He wants me to do, as I never have BEFORE. TIME IS SHORT...and I've lived long enough to see those who SURVIVED into their 80s but their health and strength, their ability to move, or think clearly or talk, was gone. THAT AIN'T LIVING, in my opinion.

Young people, SERVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH while you HAVE the strength in such abundance.

Jesus said it best: We should labor while it is yet the day, for the night is coming when no man can work. Amen!! His return, our being incapacitated, or our DYING ushers in that "night." My grandmother lived to be 85, in good health to all appearances, till she died rather suddenly. If the good Lord wills, I would not mind another 20 years under those circumstances. HIS WILL BE DONE!!
