"Sleep Well, Mike Lindell"

I'm not going to kid you, my wife and I always thought Mike Lindell, the MyPillow CEO, was a little......strange.  I mean, the way he holds the pillow in his commercials is just.....strange. Don't get me wrong, I have OWNED one of his pillows for several years now and I love it....I would just never CRADLE it the way he does, that's all.  It's for resting my head on, not HUGGING (Lol)!!

But when we saw Mike "live" at the Coronavirus Press Conference yesterday and heard his GREAT speech, our opinion of him changed for the better!! Here's what he said / read from a statement he prepared....

“God gave us grace on November 8, 2016, to change the course we were on,” Lindell began, referencing the day Trump was elected president. “Taken out of our schools and lives, a nation had turned its back on God.”

Lindell then offered advice to families stuck at home because of various social-distancing guidelines: “I encourage you to use this time at home to get back in the Word, read our Bibles and spend time with our families.”

“Our president gave us so much hope. Where just a few short months ago, we had the best economy, the lowest unemployment, and wages going up, it was amazing,” he continued, as Trump stood behind him expressionless. “With our great president, vice president and this administration and all the great people in this country praying daily, we will get through this and get back to a place that’s stronger and safer than ever.”

Lindell's hands were visibly TREMBLING as he read his words, perhaps thinking of the SALES he might lose for commending TRUMP and the HATRED he'll get from the godless Left for mentioning GOD.  We even wondered if Liberals will publicly burn his pillows now, that's how nuts most of them are.

But we admire the man for sharing his heart and for manufacturing MASKS now which will help us all fight this Virus.  He WILL get opposition, yes, because of what he said, he knew that but SAID IT ANYWAY.  Courage is not the absence of fear, it's doing what you must in SPITE of the fear, and taking the hits.

Sleep well, Mike Lindell!! You said what God put on your heart to say, and a clear conscience helps one sleep well even more than your great PILLOWS help. 

"Reagan and Trump: Two Great Leaders"

39 years ago today, President Ronald Reagan was shot, at point-blank range, by a would-be assassin. This was at the beginning of his first term, and Reagan was the first U.S. President to SURVIVE an assassination attempt.  He was also, at the time, the OLDEST President to assume office so therefore many interpreted his surviving as a MIRACLE FROM GOD. 

So did he.

Reagan believed that God spared his life because he was on a mission, and he was.  He sought to restore prayer in schools and to end abortion.  Under his leadership, the economy flourished and America was respected around the world again.  In 1984 he won re-election capturing 49 of 50 states, a huge contrast from the relatively thin margin of victory in the previous two elections. RONALD REAGAN UNITED AMERICA in an amazing way!!  And he never, ever used his own shooting as an excuse to try to confiscate legal firearms.

I believe that, as great as Reagan was, Donald Trump can be GREATER because things were worse when he took office (yes, Obama WAS even worse as a President than CARTER was...and he had EIGHT years to trash this nation....Carter only had FOUR.)  And Trump has overcome greater opposition, and hardship (like this Chinese Virus) that Reagan never had to face!! Thankfully, Trump has never been shot (yet) but he WAS older than Reagan when he assumed the Presidency and he HAS survived a bogus IMPEACHMENT ATTEMPT, if not a shooting.

We need to PRAY for our President and I, for one, am glad he's even WILLING to run for a second term.  Like Reagan, he LOVES AMERICA, and that's what drives him.

"Bob Dylan's New Song / Bill deBlasio's Bossy Wife"

Yesterday, legendary singer BOB DYLAN released a new song, totally shocking the world. There was NO ADVANCE NOTICE it was coming, for one thing. Secondly, it was his first original song he's written in 7-8 years...and he's releasing it at age 78, so it may be his LAST, who knows. And thirdly, this one 17 minute song comprises a whole "album" which is highly unusual (but it only cost $1.29 on iTunes...I purchased it, BTW, and have listened to it several times).

  

"Murder Most Foul" is the title of the song / album, and pictured above is the cover artwork. The "song" (Dylan starts out SINGING but then it seems to morph into a POEM he's spontaneously RECITING) deals with the brutal assassination of President John Kennedy in 1963, as you may have guessed. And as his LAST two songs on his LAST album in 2012 dealt with the sinking of the Titanic and the murder of John Lennon, and THIS one deals with KENNEDY'S murder, it would seem that Dylan is trying to comment on tragic historical events and cement his position as a "spokesman" for the times before HE leaves this earth. 

On the positive side, I was pleased to find MANY Christian references in the lyrics to "Murder Most Foul." Dylan made a VERY loud profession of Christian faith about 40 years ago, which he gently affirms NOW in THIS long song, and this encouraged me. (That being said, the line about "Wolfman Jack speaking in Tongues" was a LITTLE weird, Lol!! But the many other SERIOUS Christian references were most welcomed.)

So why did Dylan release this new song NOW when it was apparently recorded in 2013, the 50th anniversary of JFK's death?? Well, the song highlights societal and cultural changes in America since JFK got killed.  My guess is that Dylan took this song out of the vault NOW to get us thinking about how the Chinese Virus Catastrophe will change our lives NOW, just as the Kennedy Assassination did THEN. Just a thought....only HE knows why he did what he did, obviously.

In recent days, New York City Mayor BILL DeBLASIO has come under fire, correctly, for his mishandling of the Chinese Virus Catastrophe. What's encouraging is that segments of the LIBERAL media are (finally) pounding him, for once!! Because HE'S a Liberal, he usually gets away with murder. But wait a minute...it's not THAT encouraging, when you dig deeper...

You see, as one who lived close to NYC when Bill was first up for election, I remember many Dems saying they'd vote for him because it would "make history" and "put a black woman in charge of New York City" (Bill's WIFE is black and it's widely perceived that she TELLS HIM WHAT TO DO AND HE DOES IT.) So at the very least, a vote for BILL was a vote to make his wife CO-Mayor, and, at worst, it was to make HER the unofficial Mayor, pulling Bill's strings from behind the scenes.  Rightly or wrongly, that was the popular perception and Bill did NOTHING to seek to shoot it down.

Think I'm kidding?? Look at this profile of Bill's wife from Wikipedia. It says she "assumed office" and is an "Incumbent." 

Now, look at Wiki's profile of the PRESIDENT'S wife.  It says she assumed a "ROLE" as First Lady of the Nation.  Contrast the two.

The second one is correct.  Being First Lady ANYWHERE is not an "office," it's a "role" but again, IT IS SO WIDELY BELIEVED THAT BILL'S WIFE IS THE "REAL" MAYOR OF NYC THAT EVEN WIKIPEDIA ACKNOWLEDGES IT.

And if being the PRESIDENT'S wife is not an "office," being a MAYOR'S wife sure isn't!!

So this is why it's discouraging that the Liberal media blames BILL (and only Bill) for New York City's woes during the Crisis. They let CHIRLANE off scot-free, she gets NO criticism and has NO accountability for the way she leads Bill down wrong paths. They pile all the blame on the white man EXCLUSIVELY, while the black woman gets NO heat. And that's because the Liberal media is racist, they hate WHITE people, in my opinion.

CHIRLANE should get the blame for letting NYC be hit as hard as it is, during the Crisis.

And BILL should get the blame for letting HER be an unelected, unaccountable Mayor-Behind-The-Scenes!!

"Murphy's (Martial) Law...Is It Coming to My State?"

I have the distinct feeling that my Governor, Phil Murphy (D), is about to declare Martial Law here in New Jersey. And unfortunately I cannot question his right to do so. New Jersey is right behind New York in Coronavirus cases now, and too many idiots in this state have been flagrantly violating the rules he's already set in place to help slow the Virus' spread. As a Christian, I have been KEEPING the rules he set down. I did not vote for the man, mind you but he's my Governor, I'm to OBEY him (unless he tells me to do something that contradicts God's Word), honor him, and PRAY for him. However, there's nothing in Scripture that says I have to TRUST him.

I don't....and here's why.

1.) Murphy has made no secret in the past that he welcomes ILLEGALS into our state, and illegals are, by definition, CRIMINALS. They may be criminals looking for a better living situation, granted...but if you come into this country circumventing our laws, you're a criminal, plain and simple. (By the way, you can simply google all of the claims I make here if you don't believe me.)

2.) Murphy has ALSO recently released many "non-violent" criminals from our jail system for fear that they'll get the Virus. How do we know they won't CARRY the Virus FROM the jail, out to us law-abiding citizens?? Answer: we don't.  And it doesn't matter WHAT kind of criminals they are, criminals are CRIMINALS. If the Governor can't shield us from danger we can SEE, namely, criminals, how can we trust him to protect us against a Virus that we cannot see?

Not far from where I live in Jersey, the Democrat Governor of Pennsylvania is letting Philadelphia cops FORGO arresting people who commit "minor" crimes. (How THAT aids the fight against the Virus, I have NO idea, Lol!!) The announcement came via the Philly Police Chief whose last name is (are you ready for this) "Outlaw." Seriously!! Anyway, I mention this to show how ALL Governors in my area seem to love the lawless, yet they have power to impose MARTIAL Law. Scary!!

3.) Back to Murphy...he has shut down GUN SHOPS in Jersey, so that law-abiding citizens, who have PAID for their guns, cannot ACCESS them to defend THEMSELVES against the criminals he is letting IN the STATE and OUT of JAIL. And it won't be long, by the way, until Murphy HAS to adopt Philly's policy of letting cops look the other way for crimes that are "not too serious". He'll need those cops to enforce Martial Law against LAW-abiding citizens!!

I hope I am wrong about Martial Law coming soon to my state, but I doubt that I am.  Again, I will obey, honor and PRAY for Governor Murphy, but I don't have to TRUST him...his track record FORBIDS me trusting him. The Democrats are famous for "never letting a good crisis go to waste" and Murphy (and others) have been ITCHING for a chance to take total control of our lives, and here it is. No, I don't trust MURPHY and so I don't trust Murphy's (Martial) Law....but I do trust GOD. He will be with His own WHATEVER happens to us!!

"President Trump: The Fight Fan, and 'Fighter,' That We Need Right Now!"

I was most impressed with President Trump's statements yesterday!!  To sum it up, he is saying we can, and WILL, aggressively fight the Chinese Virus but we can, and MUST, defend our ECONOMY from collapsing, as well. The gist of his message was that WE CAN DO BOTH THINGS AT ONCE.  Of course we can!!

This perspective is very unlike the Democrats who don't seem to mind letting the economy get trashed (couldn't have anything to do with the fact it's an ELECTION YEAR, would it?? Of course not...just like their bogus IMPEACHMENT EFFORTS had nothing to do with it, Lol!!) To be clear, I support actions Democrat Governors (like mine in New Jersey, Gov. Murphy, and Gov. Cuomo in New York) have taken TO A CERTAIN EXTENT.  However, Murphy seems to almost WANT this crisis to drag on and on, giving him more control over our lives and making us more dependent on his Government.  His fears about the Virus' spread seem WAY overblown when stats and facts are examined. Remember the Democrats' mantra...."Never let a good crisis go to waste."

Anyway, back to TRUMP.

Perhaps you'll recall my blog from Feb. 11th of this year, the 30th anniversary of the Mike Tyson-Buster Douglas fight, in Japan. (If you DON'T recall it, check it out....it's still there in the archives.) Anyway, the Tyson-Douglas fight was historic because Douglas was a 42-1 underdog and he WON, "against all odds." I've been reading a BOOK about that bout, it is literally a "blow-by-blow" of everything leading up to it and everything that followed immediately AFTER it. And yesterday, right before Trump's press conference, I was shocked to read THIS....

TRUMP WAS AT THAT FIGHT, WAY BACK IN 1990 (read above)!! He was so "into" boxing that he went to JAPAN to see that fight that "everyone" thought would be over in 90 seconds when Tyson DEMOLISHED Douglas. (Come to think of it, I saw him in the crowd at MANY fights I'd watch on TV in the '80s and '90s.)  And later that very same year, 1990, didn't Trump declare BANKRUPTCY?? "Everyone" thought he was "done" but somehow he survived and THRIVED and rose to the ranks of being the most powerful man in the world, bar none.  HIS BEING A FIGHT FAN MAY HAVE HELPED HIM BECOME A FIGHTER, OR MAYBE BECAUSE HE'S A FIGHTER HE'S A FIGHT FAN...I don't know. What I do know, however, is that championship fighters are able to do TWO THINGS AT ONCE...be aggressive (punching the opponent, as Trump is doing with the Chinese Virus) and be protective (as Trump intends to do by preserving our economy, NOT letting it be shut down PERPETUALLY as the Dems seem to want, all except for CUOMO.)

Trump is a fight fan AND a "fighter" and honestly, at times I felt that he hit opponents below the belt with "low blows" on his way TO the Presidency. But since being there he has been a CHAMPION and I believe God allowed him to win the office because of many, many prayers for America.  He IS the Fight Fan, and "Fighter," we need right now to do TWO things at once in this "War" he says we are in...Attack the enemy where THEY live and concurrently Defend the HOMELAND.

THANK GOD FOR A PRESIDENT WHO CAN DO TWO THINGS AT ONCE TO WIN THIS FIGHT, AND KNOWS THAT HE HAS TO.

"Kenny's Death Unlocks Memories"

Popular music has an amazing ability to encapsulate our memories for us, a lesson which I learned again this very morning. You see, since learning of the death of singer Kenny Rogers at age 81, admittedly I've cried a few tears.  Those tears were NOT primarily for Kenny, though I am a bit sad hearing of his death.  The tears were more for the MEMORIES his death unlocked. Memories encased in some of his music.

The year was 1985.....35 years ago this very month, when I bought the album above.  It was the first Kenny Rogers album I ever took a chance on, and I purchased it because the single "Crazy" was the beautiful love song I wished I could have sung to my wife at the time, Beth. Hearing it on the radio made me buy the album.

And hearing it again TODAY made me sad thinking of how SHE suffered and died, though I know she's in Heaven.

Anyway, I listened to the ENTIRE album again today ("Crazy" is track #7 or 8) and it also reminded me of three MEN that I love.  First, my Grandpa who began to feel the effects of the illness that eventually took HIS life, there in March 1985. The album transported me back to that time period. Secondly, the great President Reagan who had just won re-election and would visit my hometown a few months after the album came out. The album pictured above somehow reminded me of all of THAT, as I drank it in. And, Thirdly, Bill Bane, President of the supply company who kept my business running strong in '85, was conjured up in my memory again this morning. All three have passed away since I bought the record and each has been a frequent topic of parts of my blogs since I've started writing them.  You see, listening to Kenny's CD today unlocked memories of ALL FOUR of these beloved ones....all at once. Memories flooded through my brain and some of that flood seeped out through my eyes, in the process. I know OTHERS who've been affected by popular music that same way.

"What About Me?" is not the ONLY Kenny Rogers album I've liked.  There was also "Water and Bridges" (not to be confused with "Walls and Bridges," by John Lennon.) There were "single" songs I heard like "Something's Burning" (with The First Edition), "Something Inside So Strong," the song "Planet Texas" and the GREAT videos for "Morning Desire" and "Twenty Years Ago." Kenny Rogers was not the TYPICAL male singer I fancy....most of them write their own music, Kenny did not. He sang OTHER people's songs so it's hard to know who HE was...and usually that's not my preference.  On the other hand, Singer-Songwriters like CAT STEVENS (see my March 2nd blog) reveal who THEY are in their music and I therefore have more to say about THEM when I write about them.

But Kenny Rogers was a great vocalist and he sang "MY" songs....the songs I'd write if *I* could write songs....that's the point.

And songs that he sang held "the Key" to many, many memories which got unlocked today.

"The CHINA Virus"

Pictured above is "Amelia," my "adopted daughter," now back in China. My first wife, Beth (now deceased) and I met her several years ago because she was a CHINESE Exchange Student who came to America. I called her "CHINESE Exchange Student" because she came here from CHINA. That wasn't RACIST, it was a statement of fact. 

But now that President Trump has begun to correctly call the "Coronavirus" the "CHINESE Virus," liberals in this country are calling him a Racist. It's bogus, he's only doing that because CHINA is trying to blame US for it's (the Virus's) origin by saying American soldiers spread it.

Liberals ought to be applauding TRUMP for protecting OUR country from slander rather than getting upset that HE is ***ACCURATELY*** accusing CHINA. Trump is no more Racist for saying "Chinese Virus" than *I* was for saying "Chinese Exchange Student."

And by the way, please pray (if you are so inclined) for dear "Amelia" and her family...it's been a month now since she's e-mailed me and yes, I'm very concerned. She may be okay physically, but for all I know, her evil Government may be brainwashing her against Americans * and I may never hear from her again. That thought BREAKS MY HEART and I pray that she'll get SAVED so at least I know I'll see her again in HEAVEN if I never hear from her again HERE. Thank you for praying for Amelia's protection and salvation!!

"The Uncertainty of Life, and The Certainty of Death"

I do not intend to turn this blog into a "preaching" platform.  It was started over two years ago merely as an outlet of self-expression, and while I certainly don't HIDE my Christian faith, neither do I seek to force it down the throat of anyone who might be reading.  I just vent about what's on my mind and heart on any particular day.

That being said, since FRIDAY some of my deepest religious beliefs have NATURALLY been front-and-center. For example, Friday was the 45th anniversary of when I became a Christian, and I wrote about it very naturally.  And, YESTERDAY'S "Chetitorial" was, quite naturally, inspired by President Trump's call to national prayer regarding the CORONAVIRUS Pandemic.

Well, TODAY it's quite apropos for me to write about DEATH, and how it comes to us all.  This morning, as I was going for my walk, our neighbor told me someone was KILLED suddenly in a car accident only a few blocks from us. And later, while driving around town, I saw the sign in the photo.  KAREN MOHR was the editor of our local paper which I've blogged about here often.

One died SUDDENLY, the other was ill for a long time....and all of this comes on the heels of my OFFICIALLY becoming a Senior Citizen last month and learning for the first time I have a heart problem, only very recently.  How could I NOT be thinking about our mortality??

Years ago, my first Pastor, Pastor Martin (who is almost 86 now) preached a message about "The Uncertainty of Life and the Certainty of Death." It talked of the need to GET READY to meet the Lord one day, with your sins forgiven, because we WILL all meet him.  And, we will. (Oh yeah, I forgot, there was a case of the Coronavirus confirmed RIGHT IN MY HOMETOWN the end of last week....THAT has me thinking about these issues, ALSO.)

*   If you ARE ready, trusting in Christ alone with your sins forgiven because of HIS blood and righteousness, SHOW FORTH THE HOPE YOU HAVE, IN HIM!! Rejoice in it!!

*   And if you're NOT yet ready, what can I say?? GET ready because whether death comes suddenly or with some warning, it's coming to all of us. Amen.

"Today: National Day of Prayer About the Coronavirus"

President Trump has called for a National Day of Prayer regarding the Coronavirus today. I love that, and I love this MEME someone thought up!! I came across it on Facebook.

And here's what I would add to the meme....while washing your hands and praying, confess our NATIONAL SINS to God (handwashing is often symbolic of admitting GUILT, and being cleansed from it.)

America has MANY national sins (abortion, lack of Thankfulness for how He has blessed us, sexual sins, esp. the acceptance of the LGBTQ lifestyle, etc.) and I believe He may be allowing this Coronavirus so that we draw near to Him, seeking Forgiveness. We need to HUMBLE ourselves before He will heal us!! 

So let the washing of our hands PHYSICALLY be accompanied by a prayer for our national cleansing, as WELL as for relief from this crisis, wisdom for our leaders and OTHER world leaders, and so on

Amen.

"45 Beats 13 Any Day!!"

Today is Friday the 13th.  Many gripped by superstition think that today will be "unlucky" for them because 13 is supposedly an "unlucky" number.  Well, I am NOT into that stuff and for me, the number 45 is what's on my mind today.  Here's why.

I'm a New York Yankees fan, but the number 45 is NOT significant to me because it's our new, amazing, free agent acquisition's (Gerrit Cole's) number!!

Also, politically I'm Conservative and the number 45 is NOT significant to me today because Trump is our 45th President and is frequently called "45," in my circles.

Rather, 45 is on my mind today because today is EXACTLY 45 years since I got saved to become a Christian, in the building shown above!!

Yes, on March 13th, 1975, after four years as a Roman Catholic, I trusted in Christ ALONE as my true Savior, and left behind all of the superstitions of Roman Catholicism. In the photo, the arrow is pointing to Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark, New Jersey where I had been attending up until my conversion.  I love how SMALL it looks in comparison to the building I got saved in, that (to me) sacred place where I first learned of God's Grace!!  I try to revisit that location every year on March 13th, just to look at the outside of the building and remember what God has done for me, how He delivered this unworthy sinner from Hell and set me on the Road to Heaven THROUGH JESUS'S MERIT AND SACRIFICE ALONE.

Recently I self-published a book about Roman Catholicism called "Winning Catholics to Christ" (see March 5th blog to learn more). This photo below shows one of the chapters from my book, emphasizing how Rome has SOLD OUT to the "Friday the 13th," Superstition mentality...

Today, on the 45th anniversary of being FREED from that Superstition System, I thank God AGAIN for His deliverance all those years ago!! 45 beats 13 ANY day, but especially TODAY as far as I'm concerned!!

"Bernie Needs to Expose Biden...to Help TRUMP"

I would never, ever want to see Socialist / Communist Bernie Sanders as our President!! This blog is about what I DO want, regarding Bernie, however. See, now that the Democratic Party Establishment has thrown their weight behind Joe Biden, and he's vaulted into the lead in the Delegate count AHEAD of B.S., yes, I want to see B.S. do well in their next debate. Here's why.

Bernie will be in a position to UNWITTINGLY help Trump's re-election.

Here's how.

This NEXT Democratic Debate, this Sunday night, will be different than the rest. Gone are the days when there were MANY up there at one time.  Since the previous contest, five Dems have dropped out of the Presidential race, leaving only Bernie and Biden. This means that Biden and his propensity for gaffes, lies, cursing at his supporters, memory lapses, and so on CANNOT EASILY BE HIDDEN unless B.S. provides "cover" for him by not attacking him aggressively (as he should. If you're in it to WIN it, when your opponent has a cut above his eye, you exploit it...you HIT it...you don't feel sorry for him.  Pardon the Boxing analogy, Lol!!)

I want to see Bernie EXPOSE Joe Biden, the frontrunner. This may be the last best chance for America to see the unfiltered Joe Biden as he is NOW, possibly suffering from dementia, for a full hour-and-a-half...because the way things are going, who knows the Coronavirus may be an excuse for Biden NOT to debate Trump in the fall, saving Joe that EMBARRASSMENT later on. And the Dems are DEFINITELY going to try to hide "Crazy Joe" on the campaign trail!!

So yes, I'm rooting for BERNIE to expose BIDEN in their head-to-head, one-on-one debate Sunday night. President Trump could do it better, but HE may never get the chance!! I'd love to see Bernie do well, WIN the debate, WIN the next few primaries and then go neck-and-neck with Biden for the nomination right up to the bitter end. I want to see a brokered Democrat Convention, I want to see the divided Dems ace Bernie OUT and I want his supporters to stay home, or protest by voting for Trump, in November.

I want to see a Trump LANDSLIDE and, believe it or not, if Bernie can do what he SHOULD do (unless the Dem Party bought HIM out, ALSO....seems like he got paid off in 2016)...if Bernie exposes BIDEN, it will help re-elect Trump, BIG-TIME.

"Fed Up With Foolish Questions"

They say that "There's no such thing as foolish questions," but I disagree strongly. Didn't Paul tell Timothy to "avoid foolish questions," in Scripture?? He wouldn't have said that, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, if there was no such animal. Well, one of the biggest foolish questions out there today has to do with DO YOU STILL IDENTIFY WITH THE GENDER IDENTITY YOU WERE BORN WITH and I'm getting asked this question more and more recently. I'm fed up with it!!

It's a foolish question because for hundreds of years NO ONE ever had to ask or answer it, but now all of a sudden it's mandatory in some places if you give blood, go to a new doctor, etc.

ALL OF A SUDDEN the "intelligentsia," the wise-in-their-own-eyes, have decided they need to KNOW this stuff. And 98% of the population is expected to have to answer the question because of 2% of the population. 

It's odd how Liberals object to, and even hate, the "1%" of the WEALTHY in this country but they cater to the "2%" of the WEIRDOS. Yes, two percent IS twice as much as one percent, but compared to the REST of the normal world, that segment of the population is thankfully relatively insignificant. 

But, I digress.

I have to have my heart checked soon to get approved for a minor surgery, so I phoned a new doctor yesterday. The nice lady who made my appointment asked me "What is your CURRENT Gender Identity." I know that by law they probably "HAVE" to ask that ridiculous question, but it's just not fair that 98% of the population has to accommodate the 2% who cannot accept the sex that God made THEM, and who then con themselves into thinking they have "changed."

Speaking of "changing," ironically, *this Friday* (the day the nice lady made my appointment for) is exactly 45 years since I got saved, the day the Lord gave me a NEW heart. It's IRONIC that I'll be getting my PHYSICAL heart checked thoroughly, for the very first time, on that very day!! That is the BEST change of identity we can ever have...being changed from someone who REBELS against God to one who loves and serves Him (however imperfectly). It's not our SEX that needs changing, it's our NATURE....our minds, our HEARTS, you see.

It's ALSO ironic that, you may recall, ONE YEAR AGO this Friday* I donated blood and the Red Cross asked me that SAME RIDICULOUS QUESTION, "Do you still identify as a male." True to my word, when they asked me to donate again THIS year I told them "I no longer identify as someone who wants to donate my blood to you." I've donated for 20 years, let them get blood from one of the "2%" people.

In closing, if I ever get a Satisfaction Survey from this new heart doctor, I'll be sure to let him know that I'M FED UP WITH FOOLISH QUESTIONS!!

"Brian Williams: NOT Terrible at Math, But Great at Political Correctness"

It all started a few days ago with this Tweet....

....and MARA GAY, who's on the New York Times' Editorial Board, was on Brian Willams' MSNBC show actually talking about the "WISDOM" contained in the Tweet!!  (Both Mara and Brian are in the photo at the TOP of this blog.)

Hey, I'm a high school dropout who failed Algebra 1 three times, but even *I* can see the Math error in that Tweet!! However my gripe is not with these two ladies, mind you. They are obviously not-with-it, granted, but I see them as VICTIMS, victims of an Affirmative Action system that elevates attractive women of color to positions they are not qualified for in order to fill a QUOTA (whether it's an "official" quota or an "unofficial" one.)  Quotas are the one area of Math that Liberals EXCEL at, unfortunately!! And though their intentions may be good, it usually ends up BADLY for these women because sooner or later they end up embarrassing themselves. Positions should be awarded to the MOST QUALIFIED PEOPLE regardless of race, sex, or attractiveness and in case you can't tell, I have a NEGATIVE REACTION to AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.

But, I digress.

No, my gripe is not with these WOMEN, it's with the system and with BRIAN WILLIAMS, who, when Mara quoted Mekita's Tweet, actually said "It's an incredible way of putting it" (read the link.)

In one sense it IS "incredible" that these ladies can't add, but Brian meant that, I believe, as an over-the-top, gushing compliment because he was afraid to CORRECT them in a nice way.

Brian Williams has been around a long time and, as a white male, he DID have to work his way up through the broadcasting ranks based on merit.  You don't get to be chief anchor at MSNBC if you're a white guy UNLESS you've earned it!!  I don't know his heart, granted, but IN MY OPINION Brian HAD to have seen the glaring error in that Tweet, yet he was afraid to CORRECT it on air lest he be falsely accused of Racism or Sexism.

In my opinion, Brian is NOT terrible at Math like the two ladies....he's just GREAT at Political Correctness.  

And, to me, well, that's even worse.

I am totally against "men" who exploit women in any way, shape or form and I've said so many times in my (almost 400) previous blogs. But I am also against naive women who encourage and ENABLE men to exploit them, and I haven't said that ENOUGH in the past.

Until NOW.

Oh yes, now that transgender "men" are besting women in head-to-head competition most women are upset....but shouldn't they have ALL been upset when this nutty idea was first PROPOSED??  The fact is, some women were flattered..."affirmed" that men wanted to  upgrade and supposedly "become" women, totally oblivious to how THEY, THEMSELVES WERE OPENING THE DOOR TO THEIR OWN HUMILIATION.  And NOW they complain!!

To be clear, MEN WHO PLOT TO DEFRAUD WOMEN ATHLETES BY PRETENDING TO BECOME LADIES ARE EVIL. PERIOD.

But while I can't say that WOMEN who encourage, enable and even IDOLIZE such men (I know some) are "evil," they are plenty GULLIBLE and it's hard for feel sorry for them when they complain now.

I'm glad many are catching on....there are actually guys who ENJOY hurting or humiliating women in competition, or showering with them, and will go to great lengths to DO that.  "Better late than never," that these women are seeing the light through the fog of their own Political Correctness, but it didn't HAVE to come to this...

I hope that LESSONS ARE LEARNED THROUGH THESE TRANSGENDER ATHLETE EXPERIMENTS.

"Fox News: Fire Donna Brazile!!"

Fox News contributor DONNA BRAZILE told someone to go to Hell---on the air---recently. It's despicable that it was SAID and it's despicable that, as of this morning, this woman was STILL on the air to potentially say it about others.

It doesn't matter WHY Brazile said that...it's just wrong. Period.  But here's a link for those unfamiliar with the context and the actual remark...

Now, Brazile is black and the woman she spoke about is white....you KNOW she'd be out of a job by now if the situation were reversed, if the WHITE woman said that about BRAZILE.  I question why Brazile isn't fired today, and, I must say, I wonder why Fox News ever HIRED her, in the FIRST place?? She has ALWAYS been low-class, in my opinion. (But, that's another story altogether).

I'm old enough to remember when the word "Hell" was banned from TV, now we have it said in the WORST possible way, on a NEWS broadcast??  You're talking to a guy who called up a Yankees broadcast during a rain delay once to complain that the Yankees manager used the word "Hell" where I'd never heard it used before....in a baseball-related interview.  That was maybe 15 years ago. To hear someone tell someone "GO to Hell" now is the absolute PITS, no pun intended.  How low can we go, in our society....how far can we DRIFT from fearing the One who CAN, as Jesus said, "cast soul AND body into Hell"??

I've preached on the subject of "Hell" in different churches in three different states over the past 45 years. I believe in Hell just as surely as I believe in HEAVEN. You see, TO TELL SOMEONE TO "GO TO HELL" IS JUST EVIL because it's either a case of the one saying it doesn't really believe there IS such a terrible place, or they BELIEVE in Hell and lack any compassion WHATSOEVER.  You would HAVE to be void of compassion if you believe in Hell, but want ANYONE to go there!! God Himself wants to see people AVOID Hell. Curtis Mayfield said it best, "If there's a Hell below we're ALL gonna go" except (he forgot to say) THOSE WHO ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST WON'T GO THERE, THOUGH WE DESERVE TO.

However, those who are truly saved urge people to FLEE the wrath to come, not to be condemned TO it.

Fox News needs to fire Donna Brazile, not let her get away with breaking down this long-standing barrier of civility, morality and decency....ESPECIALLY since we haven't even heard an APOLOGY.

I doubt that they'll have the guts, though.

" Cat Stevens / Yusuf: Morning Has NOT Broken YET"

It was early 1972.  I had just become a serious, sincere Roman Catholic and a hippie friend of mine brought me a new album, "Teaser and the Firecat," by a guy named CAT STEVENS. "You'll love this" said George..."HE'S a Catholic, ALSO."

Well, the first song on that album, "The Wind," definitely caught my attention but it was the song "MORNING HAS BROKEN," the hit single from "Teaser," which really grabbed me. It was very spiritual and gave praise to "The Word" (in Scripture, that's the Lord Jesus Christ) in the most beautiful way possible.  Amazingly, the song had NO drumming in it, yet was a huge hit on AM radio.

Soon after this, a Catholic friend of mine, Frank, told me that the song came from a Catholic hymnal (it also appears in some PROTESTANT ones), so I knew early on that Cat Stevens didn't WRITE that song, but most of the world thinks he DID, even till this day.  (I even called him "Catholic Stevens" as kind of an inside joke and began to follow his career in earnest.) However I soon learned, via his NEXT album (Fall 1972), that Cat (who wrote ALL of his lyrics, other than "Morning Has Broken") was exploring SEVERAL "dark" religions.  By 1974, his latest album had BUDDHA on the cover and his record sales began to drop in the United States, which still had a heavy Christian influence at that time (America was in our PRE-"Post Christian era, "you might say.) And a year later, 1975, I got saved and didn't listen to Cat Stevens' music again AT ALL, until 9-10 years later, after I'd "detoxed."

Cat's performance of "Morning Has Broken" in the video linked above, which I saw for the first time only RECENTLY, was recorded in 1976 and he was VERY half-hearted in it.  I've seen many of his "live" videos and THAT one was clearly lip-synced, very uncharacteristic of him. 

The video was recorded two years after the "Buddha" album and you may note, if you watch it, that Stevens was wearing a gold CRUCIFIX which flopped around conspicuously as he sang. Trust me, I was SO into him in the early '70s that my teenage friends called me "CHET Stevens".....the crucifix was ALSO out of character for him!!  It was almost like he was trying to win back his dwindling fan base from the days when that very song he was lip-syncing to was his biggest hit. (See, though the "Buddha" album had a song "Jesus" on it, Cat's lyrics also mentioned BUDDHA as if Jesus and Buddha were only both great teachers....Jesus was no longer GOD to him. Jesus Himself said He's THE Way, THE Truth, THE Life....no one comes to the Father but through HIM!! Jesus does not share his glory with ANYONE.)

It was two years after this, that Cat Stevens embraced ISLAM and changed his name to "Yusuf Islam." He left the Music scene for about 25 years (which many give him credit for, but the truth of the matter is THE MUSIC SCENE WAS LEAVING HIM, at least here in AMERICA. Cat Stevens merely "quit" before he was "fired.") In 1972, he seemed to be a man at least OPEN to Christian teachings with "Morning Has Broken," when he first hit it big here.  Then he "flipped." His career here gradually wound down, as most of his fan base gradually "flipped" on HIM.

For about 25 years after becoming a Muslim, it seemed like Islam was keeping Cat from making POPULAR music again. Then, in 2006, he began again, first as "Yusuf Islam," then just "Yusuf," and now as "Yusuf / Cat Stevens" so he appears to be "making his way back" as it were. I still listen to him, even his NEW stuff, but only in self-imposed moderation. And when he gives concerts (NOT in big venues like he USED to), he sings a FEW of his old tunes but NOT "Morning Has Broken." Perhaps his Islamist pals won't LET him sing THAT one because it acknowledges JESUS as the Creator of all?? Hmmmmm.

For Cat Stevens, "Morning" SEEMED to be breaking when he was exposed to TRUE spiritual light almost 50 years ago.  At the moment, he is immersed in DARKNESS but as I said in my blog about him last year, (linked below) I pray for him....I pray that morning has not broken....YET....that he WILL yet see the true Light of the World for who He is.
