Yes, Major League Baseball is having an abbreviated, 60 game "season" now, starting in only 12 days. The Coronavirus has knocked off 102 games from the regular season, and the games that WILL be played will be WITHOUT fans in the stands and WITH new rules designed to inhibit the spread of the disease.
Instead of "Spring Training" the players are now participating in "Summer Camp," getting ready for this weird "season". Some players are opting OUT of playing because of the risks involved and others WON'T be playing, at least to START the "season," because of the Virus.
As for me, I love baseball but frankly I've learned to live WITHOUT it these past few months. Been working on writing my books and READING a lot, as well as artwork, etc. There seems to be extra TIME each day with no baseball around, but I won't kid you, I will tune in to SOME games when they begin. My Yankees have 5 games (one an EXHIBITION game on the 20th) with the PHILLIES later this month!! I live in Jersey, my wife and I are YANKEE fans though we live closer to Philadelphia, so that should be interesting. When out in public, we WILL wear our Yankee masks (like the one above) even here in "Phillieland."
The "IRREGULAR Season" (as I call it) begins for the Yanks as we play the 2019 World Champion Washington Nationals in THEIR (Washington, D.C.) stadium!! Well, our goal is to STRIP them of their Championship title, so we may as well go right AFTER 'em, Lol!!
Because we're only playing 60 games, the Pennant Race starts with DAY ONE. We'll see what happens....but I have my doubts.
