This morning, we learned that the President and First Lady have both tested positive for COVID. We need to PRAY for them, as he has just been moved to Walter Reed "out of an abundance of caution" (Melania is staying behind at the White House). With the election only about a month away and Trump TRAILING in the polls, at first glance it seems like this illness might HARM his re-election chances as he may not be able to hold his famous rallies or attend two more scheduled DEBATES with Biden. Additionally, Trump was famous for NOT wearing a mask and (in many ways) poo-pooing the Virus, so his leadership in THAT area can certainly be called into question because he, himself has contracted COVID now.
Many Liberals are salivating at the prospect of Trump being "taken out" by the Virus and SOME are even hoping he DIES, and say so out loud. (Kudos to Biden and Obama for acting like STATESMEN, by the way, and for expressing hopes that the First Couple will recover)!! Aside from the IMMORALITY of this evil wish that many have, though, do these "geniuses" know that if Trump DID die right now we'd have Mike Pence, a CHRISTIAN, as our President?? Apparently not, but after all, if Liberals used their brains, not their FEELINGS to govern their behavior, well, they wouldn't BE Liberals, would they?? But, I digress.
I DO NOT PRETEND TO KNOW HOW THIS IS GOING TO SHAKE OUT, BUT I DO KNOW THAT GOD'S WILL WILL BE DONE AND I KNOW THAT MANY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE GATHERED IN WASHINGTON LAST WEEKEND TO PRAY FOR OUR NATION. We have to believe that SOMEHOW what is happening NOW is God's answer to our prayers, even though we don't understand it.
I have thought of five POSSIBLE ways getting COVID could actually BOOST the President's re-election chances. Here they are, no particular order.
1.) Most agree that the President was rude and ill-mannered in that first debate with Biden on Tuesday night. Even though he WON the debate on the ISSUES, the WAY he did it turned many off. TRUMP'S HOSPITALIZATION WILL MEAN THAT VICE-PRESIDENT PENCE SHOULD BE VERY PROMINENT IN THE PUBLIC EYE WHILE TRUMP IS IN WALTER REED, AND EVEN AFTER THAT. Pence is well-mannered, well-measured and a good BALANCE to Trump which may undo some of the damage Trump did to himself.
2.) The BIG issue where Biden seems to have an edge on Trump is Trump's UNDERESTIMATING of the Virus, whether real or imagined, regarding his not wearing a mask in public MOST of the time. If the President would appear before America, and HUMBLE himself to admit he should have masked up sooner, he'd be re-elected in a landslide in my opinion. The fact that he HAS the Virus gives him a golden opportunity to change course before the election, and Americans ARE very forgiving when leaders admit their mistakes.
3.) GOD ONLY KNOWS if the Dems had an "October Surprise" cooked up for Trump that they WON'T hit him with as long as he's sick now, for fear of a BACKLASH ("kicking a man when he's down.") WE DO NOT KNOW WHETHER GOD MAY HAVE ALLOWED COVID TO PROTECT TRUMP FROM SOMETHING THAT WOULD HARM HIM MORE.
4.) GETTING COVID washes away a lot of discussion about that first DEBATE from everyone's mind. Some who were ANGRY at Trump might even feel SYMPATHY towards him now, esp. because COVID figured in his BROTHER'S recent death. Liberals KNOW this, which is why some falsely claim Trump is FAKING the illness, to "get sympathy." And...
5.) LAST BUT NOT LEAST rumors were being spread that Trump and Melania's marriage was in trouble, that they were leading separate lives, etc. Well, both of them getting COVID together helps kill THAT rumor!!
TRUMP GETTING COVID MIGHT EVEN BE USED FOR A GREATER PURPOSE THAN HIS RE-ELECTION. GOD MIGHT USE IT IN HIS SALVATION!! One of my favorite all-time hymns is "GOD MOVES IN A MYSTERIOUS WAY" and who knows how God is working HERE?? Many have prayed for Trump to get SAVED....maybe this illness will cause him to CRY OUT TO THE LORD!! "Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your commandments" wrote the Psalmist. I don't know, these are just possibilities. Only GOD knows what He is doing, I just wanted to share some ways that MAYBE this situation might HELP Trump, God willing!!
All I know for sure is that GOD IS IN CONTROL and that I pray Trump WILL get better, WILL get saved and WILL get re-elected!! TRUMP, 2020!!
