"The 30 Year Burden"

 John Lennon was born 80 years ago today, in 1940.  He died 40 years ago, in 1980.  While on this earth, he had tremendous INFLUENCE, first as the founder of The Beatles and then in his solo career as a musician.

I followed Lennon VERY closely starting in 1970 when the Beatles broke up, and I can tell you that the lyrics to his songs were very anti-Christian.  (I didn't MIND that, though because I wasn't a Christian MYSELF, until 1975.  In fact, John's ungodly influence was once VERY much appreciated by me)!!

It was 30 years ago today, on what would have been Lennon's 50th, that I turned on the TV and saw Lennon's memory being honored at the United Nations, of all places. His song "Imagine" was playing and I was grieved that its godless lyrics were being broadcast to millions, ten years after his death. At that very point I developed a "burden" to try to tell younger generations the TRUTH about this man who has become an idol to so many and whose memory is being whitewashed.  In Heaven, angels REJOICE when a sinner repents but on EARTH, the DEMONS rejoice because John NEVER repented....and they love it.  Here in 2020, there was even talk about making "Imagine"...a song that denies the EXISTENCE of Heaven and Hell.... our new national anthem!! And I am sure that Lennon, the one who DISHONORED God and Christ the Lord, will be honored again today by MILLIONS.

In these past 30 years since Oct. 9th, 1990, I have attempted to use MY meager writing gift to try to make others aware of who Lennon REALLY was, what his lyrics REALLY taught so many like myself.  Finally, THIS year I think I've reached my goal.

First, I updated my short (61 page) BOOK about him and tweaked it slightly. Finally got it "perfect" after several different attempts via self-publishing, a series of magazine articles in TWO different online magazines, a DIFFERENT blog I used to write (not this one) and my FACEBOOK page*.   In fact, I've received a lot of HATRED for telling the truth about Lennon, but sobeit!!  Here's the book I've self-published on Amazon this year, already in its second edition....

 

I've also completed a TRACT that kind of TIES to the book...as if the book is the "album," and the TRACT is the "single" (wow, I'm really DATING myself by using that analogy, Lol)....

Months ago I submitted the contents of my book to "DECISION" magazine (Franklin Graham's mag) in case they wanted to print it in December, when the anniversary of Lennon's murder turns 40.  I haven't heard anything back, and I doubt if I will....but it doesn't matter.  The Lord will use it as HE sees fit.

My 30 year burden has been lifted, I wrote what I believe the Lord ordained me to write...and I can move on to OTHER, more PLEASING topics.

* The FIRST book I self-published is out-of-print, the two online mags ceased publishing, I stopped writing for that OTHER blog and the series in Facebook Notes "lives on," without much interest or fanfare. Getting the TRACT published was a four year adventure of "stops" and "starts," writes and rewrites.
