The cover of Cicely Tyson's long-awaited, upcoming Bio will show her with head shaved, it has now been made known. I like it!! To me, rightly or wrongly, the image conveys someone with NOTHING TO HIDE and that is refreshing, considering how she has been so secretive and yes, deceitful over the years. And the way it's a "black-and-white" photo (think of the THOUSANDS of photos that could have been selected for this cover) implies that the book deals in FACTS. (Yes, you CAN "judge a book by its cover"....at least you should be ABLE to, to some extent!! THAT particular photo is ADVERTISING something, and I hope it's not false advertising).
For those who don't know, I wrote the world's first Bio about Tyson in 2013 (self-published) after getting to know her for ten years at the School which bears her name, here in New Jersey. She fell out of favor with me, though, about two years ago...this blog explains why, I don't want to keep repeating myself....

I can't wait for this book, to see if she's going to come clean about certain VERY troubling things. I love the TITLE (that's my favorite hymn) and now I love the COVER. I hope the memoir, itself, "comes clean" just like the photo implies.
Lord willing, the book debuts at the end of January, 2021!!
