"Soap box alert!
"I spent a great deal of my life trying to understand love and hate. I haven't learned all I would like, but I have seen enough to cause me to share my thoughts.
"Love gives a person the capacity to sacrifice one's own life for another. I've seen it in war. We learned that a man named Jesus was all about that kind of love. And yet there were those who hated Him, enough to kill Him. In war, I remember no hate being involved in the killing of the enemy. So, what's that all about?
"In politics, it appears that hate has always been present and has resulted in many leaders of nations (Emperors, Kings, et al), being killed. The killing was never enough to slake the appetite of the killers involved. The more intense their hatred, the more the need for them to want to defame or to desecrate their victim, even their corpses. That's a lot of hate.
"An even more cruel example is the 'Death of a Thousand Cuts', from old Chinese history. There must have been a really large amount of hatred present to cause such a slow and painful death. The victim could not hope for even a smidgen of relief, no 'coup de grace', only suffering.
"It is this horrible method that has been chosen by the politicians who oppose President Trump to 'kill' him. The 'cuts' began even before his election. They continued every day throughout his entire term of office. They are now defaming and attempting to disgrace him through impeachment. There is also a plan to cause him more suffering even after he leaves the WH, a kind of 'desecration of the corpse', an indication of the amount of hatred they are feeling.
"Let's stop right here for a second. I think it is time to more clearly understand what hate is. I see it differently than I used to . 'Good guys' are killed by 'bad guys' who hate them and it doesn't matter that the intended victim is good and has done good things.
So where does their hatred come from? Here are my thoughts.
"Their hatred is actually related to, and in proportion to, the amount of fear they are feeling. What we call hate is actually fear.
"Consider this: A much more intense emotion, fear is tuned to the body's survival mechanism. It is systemic and does not involve any thought process. It is a system that makes us express our basic animal instincts. Think of how an animal behaves when it fears for its life. In its efforts to fight/kill, it only looks like hate is involved. Just as I saw in war, they are acting out of fear. We call it hatred, but now I know.
"Politician's fear = inhuman behavior = animal behavior Yes, that's it - I get it now."
