"Rush, The Refuter"

With Rush Limbaugh's 70th birthday coming tomorrow, and because he is near death, I wanted to get a BRIEF book that summarized his life and career...one NOT written by him. I went to Amazon and THIS one (above) was cheap, short and, from the 3-4 page online preview of the BEGINNING of the book, was at least seemingly FAIR to Rush. 

Once I got the book and started reading it last night, however, I (eventually) found out it was WAY top-heavy with negative stuff and rather UNfair to the Doctor of Democracy.

I felt like it was a bait-and-switch. BUT.... the writer WAS at least articulate and didn't curse....there were no SPELLING ERRORS, etc. so it was a "clean" book. (He wasn't a miscreant like MOST of Rush's critics.) And I was, oh, about halfway through before it became undeniably obvious that the book was ANTI-Rush, yet I finished reading it. (With an open mind, no less....though the book failed to persuade me).

Here's an important LESSON in all of this.

          IF I WERE A LIBERAL I'd have stopped reading the book when I didn't agree with it, and tossed it out.

          IF I WERE A LIBERAL I'd demand that the publisher stop publishing.

          Yes, IF I WERE A LIBERAL I would do everything in my power to silence this critic of someone I agreed with. Destroy his livelihood!! Demand he APOLOGIZE!! Etc. etc. etc.

But I'm NOT a Liberal, I am NOT going to try to keep others from seeing the book because I'm afraid it will influence them (like the cowards in charge of Facebook and Twitter are trying to silence BIDEN'S critics.)

Oh, don't get me wrong....I may write an Amazon REVIEW (which is commonplace), warning people that the book APPEARS to be neutral, but is really biased. I may warn them that it's overpriced and much of it looks to be distilled from Wikipedia articles, things like that. But I would never DEMAND that opponents of Rush be silenced. Hey, I actually WANT them to speak so that I can know their arguments and REFUTE them better!!

Even though the book is the subject of this blog, I'm only trying to PAN the book....not BAN it.

Yes, it's ironic....this little book seeks to discredit one who refutes Liberals so very well....and the "refutation" of The Refuter unwittingly accomplishes the same purpose. 

For in THIS case, the Liberal author has refuted HIMSELF!!
